Exciting news indeed: A brand new Solar Decathlon edition is taking shape. Yes, it is a special one, and the Solar Decathlon Europe would like to give a warm welcome to our African friends as they join the
Solar Decathlon community! The Solar Decathlon Africa is planned for the autumn of 2019, in Morocco.
Initiated in November 2016, the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water & the Environment (MEMEE), the Moroccan Research Institute in Solar Energy & New Energies (IRESEN), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue the Solar Decathlon in Africa. The competition is set to integrate the rich cultural heritage and the unique local and regional characteristics of Africa while following the Solar Decathlon mandate.
